Cricket fans thronged the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday night ahead of offline ticket sales for the India vs England ODI scheduled for February 9.

A large number of people made a beeline outside the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday night ahead of the offline counter sale of tickets for the ODI match between India vs England on February 9.

Several people including women and girls were spotted queuing in the night near ticket counters expecting a huge rush for tickets which will be available on Wednesday. Online tickets for this much-anticipated clash were swiftly snapped up, with counter sales set to begin for the general public from tomorrow.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made near the stadium for the smooth sale of tickets. The Commissionerate Police will deploy a total of 17 platoons of force, ensuring security as ticket counters open at 9 am.

“I am very much excited for the high-voltage match. I have been waiting in the queue since 9 pm. I will patiently wait for my turn till 9 am tomorrow to buy the ticket,” said a fan.

As per police sources, as many as two queues for men and one queue for women have been set up. Cuttack ADCP Amarandra Panda has requested people to come in queue and collect tickets from the counter in a disciplined manner.

The day-night encounter between India and England has created an unprecedented frenzy among cricket fans of the State.

To enhance the experience for those unable to enter the stadium, as many as three fan parks will operate across the lower and upper Bali Yatra grounds.

Where to park your vehicles

For fans travelling to the stadium, extensive parking arrangements have been made across five strategic locations, accommodating approximately 25,000 vehicles. The parking is to be primarily done in the upper,and  lower Bali Yatra grounds and three other places.
