‘Mo Bus’ driver arrested following death of minor girl in Bhubaneswar

A Mo Bus driver, Nrusingha Sethi, was arrested in Bhubaneswar after a fatal accident that killed a 12-year-old girl in Raghunathpur. She was on her way to elsewhere riding a bicycle. Locals protested by blocking the Nandankanan-Patia road.

Mo Bus halted on road following the fatal mishap

A ‘Mo Bus’ driver identified as Nrusingha Sethi was arrested on Tuesday by Nandankanan Police in connection with a fatal accident involving the public transport bus in Bhubaneswar. A minor girl died in the road mishap earlier in the day.

The incident occurred in Raghunathpur locality where the bus collided with the minor, who later succumbed to injuries. Police have seized the bus from the spot as part of their ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the tragedy.

Local police continue to gather evidence and statements to understand the exact sequence of events that led to this unfortunate occurrence.

Worth mentioning, tension flared up in the Raghunathpur area under Nandankanan police limits after the ‘Mo Bus’ crushed the 12-year-old girl to death in the morning.

The girl was riding along a corner of the road on her bicycle when the bus, approaching from behind her, hit and ran over her. The victim reportedly died on the spot.

Following the incident, locals detained three Mo Buses in protest while also blocking the Nandankanan-Patia road by placing bamboo on the street. The road blockade and outrage continued for quite a long time with the traffic coming to a standstill.

A number of vehicles got stranded on both sides of the road.
