Rohit Sharma
Team India captain Rohit Sharma failed miserable with the bat and failed to inspire the team in the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide. As a result India suffered a humiliating loss against the formidable hosts.
Though Rohit sacrificed his regular opening position and played in the middle order, his woeful form with the bat continued. Now, fans are intrigued by the question whether Rohit should continue batting in the middle order or return to his regular opening position for the third Test to be played at The Gabba in Brisbane, a venue with a rich history in Australian cricket.
According to former India great Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit should open batting in the third Test.

“Rohit Sharma has been an opening batsman and he likes to take responsibility as the captain and the leader of the pack. I think he will want to open the batting. I don’t think it sends any signals because Rahul, before the Perth Test, had been batting in the middle order,” said Gavaskar.
“If Rohit opens the batting or bats down the order, the pitch should not be an issue. It’s just a question of making that mental adjustment as he has been opening batting for the last four or five years,” he added.
India will take on Australia in the third Test in Brisbane starting from Saturday.
