Hardik Pandya blamed for India’s defeat against 3rd T20I against England

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Former wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel blamed Pandya for India’s defeat and putting other batters under pressure.

Despite all-rounder Hardik Pandy scoring 40 runs off 35 balls, India lost to England in the third T20I in Rajkot. Pandya looked out of touch during his innings.

Pandya’s sluggish batting forced other batters to go for shots, resulting in their dismissals. Although the pace all-rounder tried to boost the run rate, it was too late by the time he started hitting the ball.

In response, former wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel blamed Pandya for India’s defeat and putting other batters under pressure.

“Hardik Pandya put other batters under pressure because of his slow batting. He played a lot of dot balls, which you don’t expect in T20 cricket. You can’t take 20 balls to settle down. If you are not able to hit fours and sixes, you should try to take singles,” said Parthiv.

Former England great Kevin Pietersen also echoed the same view on Pandya’s show.

“Hardik was not at his best. I also feel the batting order was not right. You can’t send Dhruv Jurel at No.8. He is a good batter, and India could have sent him earlier, but I don’t understand why he was not given a chance,” said Pietersen.
