Outside the stadium, the day was not without disruption. Crowding led to pushing and shoving, resulting in some injuries as many fans were knocked to the ground due to the massive crowd. At least three people required medical attention. A police motorcycle was also damaged during the pandemonium, with abandoned footwear and personal items marking the scene. Quick response medical treatment was provided by Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials and police.
The fervour surrounding Virat Kohli's return underscores his enduring appeal and the deep-rooted passion for cricket in India. Yet, it also highlights the logistical challenges that come with managing large gatherings of such enthusiastic crowds.
