Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu recently bid farewell to Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket after 2023 season of the cash-rich league. Rayudu played a special cameo in the IPL 2023 final to help Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerge champions.
In an explosive interview to a television channel, Rayudu revealed that he had issues with members of the selection committee at that time and hence he was excluded from the Indian team in World Cup 2019.
“I had some issues with one member of the selection committee when I was playing with them in the early stages of my career. This might be one of the reasons why I was out of the team in World Cup 2019,” said Rayudu.
The former batsman asserted that BCCI officials told him in 2018 to be prepared for the 2019 World Cup. But he was not surprisingly picked in the squad announced for the mega event.
“It was very disappointing at that time. I wanted to play for India and participate in the World Cup. However, the manner in which I was snubbed was really shocking.
