Jasprit Bumrah
Team India premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah is currently nursing an injury. As per reports, Bumrah’s inclusion in the squad is doubtful.
Moreover, though experienced pacer Mohammed Shami has made a comeback to the Indian team, he is far from his best and looks rusty.
In response, former India star turned expert Aakash Chopra believes that a different pacer is likely to be selected in the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
“I am not hearing great news about Bumrah’s fitness. However, I won’t believe in hearsay, and won’t share what I heard either,” said Chopra on his official YouTube channel.
“Four fast bowlers should have 100 percent been there in the Champions Trophy squad because whatever we have seen of Mohammed Shami, he did take three wickets in the last match for sure and bowled decently, but he is far from ready,” he added.

Notably, Bumrah picked up a back injury during the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. According to chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Bumrah had been advised five weeks of complete rest.
On the other hand, Shami failed to impress with his performances after making a comeback to the Indian team in the recently concluded T20I series against England following a long injury lay-off.
