Bhubaneswar: After the majestic super blood moon phenomenon, there's another celestial event an, annular solar eclipse ready to mesmerize the skygazers next week on June 10.
An annular solar eclipse happens when the moon comes in between the sun and earth. Because of the long distance between the two heavenly bodies, the moon looks smaller and it only blocks the centre of the sun and its rays from reaching the parts of earth while the outer disk of the sun appears as a ring of fire around the moon.
This time, the annular solar eclipse will be visible in Canada, Greenland, North Pole, and parts of Russia. Similarly, Europe, North America, Arctic, and parts of Asia will see a partial solar eclipse.
While the event will be out of sight in India, less than 10% of the eclipse will be visible in only a small portion of Jammu and Kashmir.
The eclipse will begin at around 1.42 pm IST and peak at 4.11 pm before concluding at 6.41 pm IST.
