For me, position doesn't matter, what matters most is respect and trust, said BJD’s senior leader Prasanna Patasani in a press statement on Saturday. His statement came after BJD fielded Raghunath Sahu from the Chilika Assembly seat, from where Patasani was speculated to be nominated.

Now I am in the Biju Janata Dal. Following the orders of the leadership, I am working with discipline. Position is not important to me, but respect and trust are important to me, Patasani said.

"Time is very powerful in politics. Who will stay, who will go, what will happen in the future, everything depends on time. Time will tell what will be my next approach," he said.

The five-time Parliamentarian was aspiring to contest from the Chilika Assembly constituency. He even said that if the party gave him a ticket he would contest the election.

Besides being elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly four times, he has been elected to the Lok Sabha for five times from 1998 to 2014.
