After the conclusion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National Convention in New Delhi, Odisha leaders returned home after receiving guidance and suggestions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi with organizational tasks for the next 100 days.

The party has reportedly drawn up strategies at the two-day National Convention for the upcoming General elections.

As per the strategies, the BJP leaders will reach out to the beneficiaries of various Central schemes and to the people to highlight what the Modi government has achieved in the last 10 years.

The party workers will also carry messages of the Prime Minister and give accounts of the work done in the two terms of the NDA government while undertaking the party’s 'Booth Chalo Abhiyan and Gaon Chalo Abhiyan'.

Significantly, the Modi government has taken a host of historic and important decisions and implemented them as well. The major achievements of the Modi government include the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, the scrapping of Article 370, Triple Talaq and CAA.

The saffron party has set a target to win 370 Lok Sabha seats and over 400 seats for the NDA in the upcoming elections. As the current political scenario and equations are different in different states, the party has drawn up special and different battle plans accordingly.

The party has laid focus on 13 Lok Sabha segments in Odisha where it failed to perform well in the 2019 elections. Hence, Union Ministers are routinely visiting these parliamentary constituencies under Pravas programme. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently visited some parts of Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack Lok Sabha constituencies and held meetings with the party workers.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will come to Odisha on February 22 to attend rallies covering three clusters such as Berhampur, Nabarangpur and Mayurbhanj. Ahead of the elections, there are plans for the visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda to some of the clusters.

The BJP is also working on its ambition for the double-engine government in Odisha.

Speaking to media, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu said, ”We have two to three programmes like Booth Chalo Abhiyan. The real fight will be at the booth level. Voters will take decisions at that level. The real election will start there. The party's top leaders have wanted us to reach out to the people with achievements like the scrapping of Article 370, Triple Talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and establishment of the country’s cultural centre Ram Mandir.”

The Union Minister also added that the beneficiaries of various schemes will be contacted along with the messages of the Prime Minister. "The Prime Minister has set a target for the NDA to cross the 400 mark this time. The NDA will form the government again,” he added.

BJP leader Lekhashree Samantasighar exuded confidence and said, ”The BJP’s roadmap is to form the government by winning 370 parliamentary seats. There is no doubt that people of the country have decided to vote the BJP to power and want to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister again.”

Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal said, ”From the booth level to the Central level, workers will prepare their agenda for the next 100 days. They will come in contact with beneficiaries ahead of the elections. Booth Chalo and Gaon Chalo Abhiyan will be conducted. They will attend all political meetings.”

Senior journalist Prasanna Mohanty observed, “The BJP is focusing on the seats where it was defeated earlier. The main effort for the BJP will be to raise the vote percentage to 50 per cent. The Modi guarantee and the Modi Yojanas will be major assets for the party.”
