I have not told anyone to vote for my son, but when people are asking me if they should cast their votes for my son, I am telling them yes, said veteran Congress leader and Jatani MLA Suresh Routray on Monday.

When asked about the show-cause notice served to him on allegations of campaigning for his son Manmath Routray, who contesting on a BJD ticket from the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency, he said he has never campaigned for his son.

“I am a man of principles. I am a true Congressman. I have never asked anyone to vote for my son. But when people are asking me if they should vote for my son, I am telling them yes. For this, if the AICC or the PCC wants to punish me, I will accept it. But I will be a Congressman till my death,” said Routray.
