BJP's National Vice President and Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate, Baijayant Panda intensified his campaigning in the constituency and took a dig at the Odisha government over the large-scale migration of labourers to other states.

The BJP stalwart addressed a public meeting at Tikanpur under the Patkura Assembly seat. The party’s MLA candidate for the Patkura Assembly seat, Tejeswar Parida was present at the meeting.  Both the leaders also took out a rally in the area and interacted with the people.

Addressing the gathering, Baijayant Panda raised the issue of labour migration in the region and said, “My sisters and mothers, I want to ask if your kith and kin are not going abroad and other states, seeking jobs. Are they not facing problems and getting harassed? Every year, I get letters from people. We have instances of people getting stranded in Oman and Malaysia.”

He also added, "It is a matter of pride for me that the people of Patkura have reposed faith in me. You had blessed me twice to represent Kendrapara at Delhi Durbar and the national level.”

Launching an attack on the state government, Baijayant Panda said, "We should ask the government why so many people have to migrate. Despite 25 years of rule, why they can't provide employment to the youths here.”
