Bhubaneswar: Prior to the polls to the three-tier panchayat system and the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has restructured its office bearers in the women wing of the party, Biju Mahila Janata Dal.

With the approval of the BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, the party has appointed new state level office bearers. Three executive presidents have been appointed in the women wing while five new advisors would work for the women arm of the party.

A communication issued by the BJD stated that Subasini Jena, Sulata Deo and Nibedita Mohanty have been appointed as the new executive presidents while MP Rajashree Mallik, Manjulata mandal, former MP Rita Tarai, MLA Latika Pradhan and Nandini Devi have been given the responsibility of the advisors.

Kasturi Mohapatra has been appointed the Secretary General while Jayashree Dash has been entrusted with the task of the party Treasurer.

Apart from these, the party has appointed seven new zone presidents, nine senior vice-presidents, 27 vice presidents.

Similarly, 35 women leaders have been appointed as the general secretaries of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal followed by 36 secretaries and 28 joint secretaries.

“In addition to strengthening the party base, our prime aim is to develop the locality. The party needs more people and coordination. I hope the new office bearers would work for the all-round development of the party and society," said newly appointed advisor and MLA Latika Pradhan.
