A young girl was mowed down by a speeding truck in front of her parents near the Laljiram Petrol Pump on National Highway 143 in the Lahakothi area under Biramitrapur of Sundargarh district on Tuesday morning.

Sources reported that the tragic accident occurred when the family of three, a father, mother, and their daughter were returning from Vedvyas on a bike when a truck rammed into them, causing the bike to veer off balance.

As they all fell on the road, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction ran over the girl. She reportedly died on the spot.

“Vehicles were coming from both sides of the road and this bike was trapped in between them. After being hit they fell but while the parents survived, the truck crushed the little girl to death. I demand immediate justice,” stated the deceased child’s grandmother.
