Two minor cousins meet watery grave in pond in Dhenkanal
Two minor boys drowned to death while taking a bath in a pond at Ektali village under the Kamakhyanagar block of Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as seven and eight-year-old minor boys and they happen to be cousins.
On being informed, Kamakhyanagar Police reached the spot immediately and started an investigation into the incident.
As per reports, both the minor boys had gone to take a bath in the pond before visiting the temple on the occasion of ‘Bada Osha’. When they didn’t return home after a long time, the family members started a frantic search in the nearby areas.
Subsequently, they found the slippers of both the minor boys near the pond. Eventually, their bodies were recovered from the pond.
A pal of gloom descended on the area following the tragic incident.
