Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida
In a determined move to address the growing concerns of rejected Subhadra Yojana applicants, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Thursday pledged that the verification process would be completed within 15 days.
The Deputy CM also announced that girls turning 21 this month are eligible for the mega scheme and requested everyone to apply without any further delay. Speaking to media persons, Parida highlighted that Odisha government is committed to finding eligible beneficiaries, who were rejected due to various reasons, and adding them under the financial assistance scheme.
“All the eligible beneficiaries, now in the rejected list, will be included in the upcoming fourth phase of the first installment,” the Deputy CM added.
“During the application process, most places reported lag in server due to which applications were not submitted properly. So, efforts are on to fast-track the verification process and complete it within 15 days,” she added.
“Till now, we have received over 1.6 crore applications. Out of the 2.67 rejected lists, 22% of applicants have also availed their money in the third phase. We are also expecting more new applications from those who turned 21 this month,” the Deputy CM added.
The Deputy CM emphasized that the districts worst affected will be prioritized to ensure swift corrective action and reiterated the importance of transparency and efficiency in problem-solving efforts. She revealed that significant rejection counts have been documented in the regions of Malkangiri, Gajapati, and Koraput.
“Our focus is mostly in districts that have fewer applications for Subhadra. A team under CDPO has already reached Malkangiri and the verification process is on. I’m hopeful that the verification process will be completed within 15 days,” the Deputy CM stated.
By focusing on these hotspots initially, the government aims to address the underlying factors contributing to the rejections.
