Subhadra Yojana beneficiary count to reach 1 crore milestone: Odisha Dy CM

Meanwhile, the second instalment of the Subhadra Yojana will be released on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day. The government has set March 31 as the deadline for registration to avail Subhadra benefits.

Subhadra Yojana, the flagship women's welfare scheme of the current Odisha BJP government, has already reached 98 lakh women beneficiaries, stated Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday.

She further said that an additional 2 lakh women are set to become beneficiaries soon ahead of the next instalment, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 1 crore.

The Deputy CM also appealed to women who have not enabled Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to visit their banks and complete the process immediately. Additionally, she also guided women who believe they are eligible but have been rejected to meet a Subhadra Committee member for clarification at the earliest.

“Subhadra Yojana will soon reach 1 crore women. I appeal to all Odia women to enable DBT in their bank accounts and visit their bank branches and the ensured funds will be disbursed soon thereafter,” she said while adding that the lists of eligible beneficiaries are available at Anganwadi centres, district offices, and block offices. 

On February 8, the Odisha government disbursed the fourth phase of financial support under the Subhadra Yojana, benefiting over 18 lakh women. The Deputy CM had then highlighted the scheme's success, noting it reached 98 lakh women in seven months, emphasizing the BJP government's commitment to empowering women.

Earlier, the Deputy CM also appealed to eligible women living and working outside the state to apply for the scheme to ensure maximum reach of the welfare benefits guaranteed under the scheme.
