Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Saturday disbursed the fourth phase of financial support of Rs 5000 under the ambitious 'Subhadra Yojana', benefiting over 18 lakh women. Attending a special event held in Jajpur, the CM distributed the fourth phase money of the first instalment of funds as part of the BJP government’s ambitious initiative.
Also present at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the success of the scheme, stating that it has reached 98 lakh women beneficiaries in the last seven months. She addressed the attendees and noted the PM Modi-led BJP government’s commitment to empowering women.
The Deputy Chief Minister also announced plans for further distribution, confirming that the second instalment will be released on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day. The Deputy CM assured that the beneficiaries deprived of their first instalment would receive their pending amount along with the second instalment on March 8.
“Other beneficiaries who have faced delays in receiving their funds due to issues with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will be accommodated on March 8. I request beneficiaries to complete necessary formalities, including National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) verification and e-KYC updates, by visiting their respective bank branches,” the Deputy CM said.
Worth mentioning, the 'Subhadra Yojana' aims to provide financial assistance to women across Odisha, enhancing their socio-economic standing. This initiative is particularly significant in rural areas, where economic empowerment carries substantial cultural and social implications.
The name 'Subhadra' also carries cultural significance, referencing to Goddess Subhadra, adding a deeper layer of meaning to the scheme’s purpose.
