Lady blackmailer and sextortion case main accused Archana Nag may walk out of jail in the New Year as she has been granted bails in all three cases registered against her, the latest being the case pertaining to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

On October 2, 2022, a female victim had lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar against Nag. Following this, the police had registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act and subsequently arrested her on October 7. Later, the ED had arrested her under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on December 13. On October 17, her bail plea was rejected by the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar.

However, on August 2, 2023, the Orissa High Court had granted her conditional bail in connection with the FIR registered against her at Khandagiri Police Station.

Prior to this, in April, she was also granted bail in connection with the case lodged by a film producer at Nayapalli Police Station.

Even though she has got bail in two cases, she has been cooling her feet in Jharpada jail as she hadn’t got bail in the case registered by the ED.
Now with the Orissa High Court granting her bail in the ED case, all hurdles preventing her from walking out of the jail have been removed and she is all set to come out of the jail.
