The gruesome incident previously took place on the Rasulgarh-Vani Vihar flyover, where the accused are alleged to have beheaded Sahadev. After scrutinising footage from 55 CCTV cameras, the Commissionerate Police’s special squad has arrested five persons.

According to police, the victim, who belonged to Kedarapalli and was the head of a local sanitation workers’ outfit, was reportedly murdered over past enmity and accused’s alleged involvement in brown sugar (heroin) trade.

Worth mentioning, an intricate plot surrounding the murder of Sahadev on the morning of January 8 continues to stir unease. Key accused Lipika Nayak, alongside her spouse named Laxmidhar, meticulously crafted the plan that is currently being disclosed in depth.

A video showing the accused at the crime spot went viral on social media. Later it was revealed that one of the accused who resembled a man in the viral video was actually Lipika disguised as a male with her face covered. Initially, Lipika’s demeanour appeared unassuming to investigators, with few believing she was capable of such a homicide.

During key accused Lipika’s incarceration over alleged involvement in the illicit brown sugar trade, she was in the process of hatching her deadly plan. By 5 January, upon her release on bail, she had already laid out the strategy leading to the murder.
