Remuneration hike for new special striking force battalions announced by Odisha govt
The government of Odisha is set to enhance its Special Striking Force by forming three new battalions, primarily staffed by former military personnel from the Army and Navy, along with members of the Central Armed Police Forces.
Moreover, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has sanctioned a proposal to increase the monthly pay for these security personnel, bringing about significant changes to their remuneration structure.
The minimum salary for the Special Striking Force personnel has been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000. The development has been announced in a press release issued by the Chief Minister's office on Thursday.
General Duty (GD) constables will now earn Rs 45,000, up from Rs 30,000. For Lance Naik, Naik, and Havildar (GD), pay has been revised to Rs 50,000 from Rs 32,000. Junior Commissioned Officers (GD) and Junior Commissioned Officers (Instructors) will both see their salaries rise to Rs 55,000 from Rs 40,000.

In addition, Dinghy Drivers, Sea-Man Mechanics, and Khalasis will have their pay increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000. Sirang and Engine Drivers will receive Rs 50,000, up from Rs 32,000, while Masters will now earn Rs 55,000, a rise from their previous salary of Rs 40,000.
The adjustments come as part of Odisha's commitment to fortifying its security infrastructure with highly trained personnel, ensuring that compensation aligns with their skills and experience.
