Justice Biswanath Rath
The much-anticipated renovation of the iconic Ratna Bhandar at Puri Srimandir is expected to conclude within the next month, informed Justice Biswanath Rath, who chairs the Ratna Bhandar Inspection Committee.
According to Rath, the meticulous work is almost finished in the inner Ratna Bhandar, while the repair work of the outer Ratna Bhandar is in progress.
"This renovation is being undertaken with the intention of securing the structural integrity of the Ratna Bhandar for at least the next 100 years. Five worn-out beams have been replaced with sturdy steel ones," said Justice Rath.
"Once the repair work is completed, the process of relocating the jewels and ornaments will commence following a pre-established standard operating procedure (SOP)," said Justice Rath.

This careful approach emphasises the significance of preserving these invaluable treasures.
"There is extensive work to be done. The walls of the inner Ratna Bhandar were badly damaged. With the Lord's grace, the repair work was undertaken in time. The repair work is being undertaken in a smooth manner for at least the next 100 years. ASI authorities are conducting the repair work properly by using the right kind of materials," said Justice Rath.
"The repair work is being undertaken for three to four hours on a daily basis. Considering the pace of the work, it is expected that it will be finished within the next month. Following the completion of the work, the restoration and counting work will be undertaken," he added.
