Puri Srimandir
The Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar repair work will begin following the completion of the morning rituals at Srimandir in Puri on Tuesday.
As per Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) sources, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team will enter the Ratna Bhandar at around 12.30 am to undertake the repair work.
Meanwhile, ASI superintending engineer, Dibishada Brajasundar Garnayak informed that an administrative official of SJTA will open the lock of the Ratna Bhandar to facilitate the entry of ASI team inside it.
“The Jagamohana will be barricaded before the start of the work. Around 30 workers will be engaged in the repair work of the Ratna Bhandar. ASI superintendent and Puri Sub Circle In-Charge will be present to supervise the repair work,” said Garnayak.

“Iron pipes will be set up on the first day to be used as support for the repair work. Then plasters will be removed from the chambers. Subsequently, the repair work will continue. Following the completion of the repair work, old doors of Ratna Bhandar will be replaced with stainless steel doors on security grounds,” he added.
The ASI has set a target to complete the repair work within three months.
Earlier a few days back, ASI had informed that the inner Ratna Bhandar repair work of Puri Srimandir will be carried out first.
As per the ASI, Ratna Bhandar's work will be executed as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the temple administration and the work will start at 12.30 pm and continue till the evening.
“Emphasis will be given to smooth and disciplined darshan of the devotees and the rituals of the deities during the repair work. Senior ASI officials from Delhi will monitor the work,” an ASI official had said.
