Though construction of various ‘mandaps’ were visualized in the design of the Srimandir Parikrama project during the tenure of the previous project, it was not added to the designing. Now, with the new government taking an initiative to create new mandaps in the project, several devotees of Lord Jagannath have expressed their delight.
As per sources, the initiative is being taken by the current government to create a feeling of devotion among the devotees across the globe during their visit to Puri Srimandir to have darshan of the Holy Trinity.
Effort will also be made to bring back the old glories of ancient mutts in Puri, the minister stated.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Jeypore Tara Prasad Bahinipati has welcomed the decision to change the design of the Parikrama project.
“There should be no politics when it comes to Lord Jagannath. Whatever decision the Law Department will take for Srimandir’s security and development of the Parikrama project, we should welcome that,” Bahinipati said.
