Rain starts in Odisha

The well marked low pressure area over south Bay of Bengal has become active and it is likely to intensify into a depression in the next 12 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Friday.

Bhubaneswar Regional Center of India Meteorological Department has predicted that various places in Odisha is very likely to experience cloudy weather and light to moderate rainfall under the effect of the low pressure today and tomorrow.

The weather department has issued alert to as many as 19 districts of southern, coastal and interior parts of Odisha. Some places in the districts will witness rainfall during the period.

Farmers in the State have been advised to be careful as the unseasonal rain may affect their paddy and Rabi crops.

As per reports, some places in the State have already been witnessing light rainfall activities since the morning hours. Commuters in Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar faced problems while going to offices, schools, colleges and markets.

It has been predicted that the amount of the rain is likely to increase further in the next two days.

Meanwhile, the night temperature has increased a little bit for the last couple of days due to the change in the weather condition under the influence of the low pressure. Though people have got a little respite from the chilly weather, the cold wave condition is likely to return to Odisha again after four days.
