Puri Srimandir
In anticipation of a significant influx of visitors for the English New Year, extensive preparations are underway at the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri. With thousands of devotees expected to visit the holy site, Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) officials are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a seamless experience.
As per reports, unauthorised obstructions have been cleared from the temple grounds, excluding essential almiras in the Natmandir precinct.
Despite the progress, the Chief Administrator of SJTA has indicated that further clearance, particularly regarding the removal of donation boxes, is contingent upon approvals from the concerned department and the Chief Minister of Odisha. These steps are seen as important to maintain the sanctity and operational efficiency of temple activities.

A concerted effort is being made to ensure that the rituals scheduled for December 31 and January 1 proceed without a hitch. Both temple servitors and devotees have been urged to maintain decorum during these auspicious ceremonies. The district and police administrations are actively collaborating to streamline visitor flow and manage the large crowd efficiently.
The temple administration has received directives from the legal department on forming a new management committee of Srimandir. SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee confirmed that actions are being taken in line with these guidelines and the mandates from the State government to enhance the temple’s governance.
“Considering the huge surge of devotees at Srimandir on New Year’s Day, elaborate arrangements are being made,” said Padhee.
