Police on Monday arrested a person for smuggling ganja by wrapping the contraband item around his body with duct tape at Nandapur in Koraput. He had strapped seven kilograms of ganja around his chest. 

The accused has been identified as Dulhan Khan, a resident of East Bardhaman district in West Bengal.

According to the police, the accused was smuggling the marijuana strapped around his body and in a bag from the Nandapur area to the Bangladesh border. Acting on a tip-off, Padua Police waylaid him at Daleiput village. They seized 20 kilograms of ganja kept in a bag from him. Upon searching him thoroughly, police were taken aback to find ganja weighing seven kilograms strapped around his body. 

“He was smuggling ganja in a totally different way. He had wrapped seven to eight kilograms of ganja around his body. It was a challenge for the police,” said Nandapur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra.
