Former Odisha Crime Branch chief to testify at ADJ court in Patnagarh parcel bomb case
Testimonies in the highly publicised Patnagarh parcel bomb explosion case will be recorded at the Patnagarh Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court (ADJ) in Bolangir on Monday.
Arun Bothra, the former Additional Director General (ADG) of the Crime Branch, is anticipated to give his testimony in the case. Bothra is expected to present all the video discs related to the case as part of the proceedings, which have garnered significant public and media interest.
The case, which sent shockwaves across Bolangir district and the State, has been a focal point of discussions due to its intricate nature and the tragic outcomes following the explosion. The testimony of Bothra, known for his keen investigative insights, is awaited with much anticipation as it is likely to shed light on many aspects of the case.

Earlier, Bothra had requested to produce the video evidence of the case and the Court gave him permission for it.

Today’s hearing is considered important as it is expected that Punjilal’s lawyer may cross-examine Bothra in connection with the case. The video evidence will be displayed in the presence of all the parties.
Till the last report came in, deceased Soumya Sekhar’s father Rabindra Sahu and the accused Punjilal Meher had arrived at the court for the hearing.
