Sishir Sahu's death takes a puzzling twist
The mysterious death of Nayagarh forester Sishir Kumar Sahu has taken a dramatic turn after the victim’s elder brother, Sarat Kumar Sahu, alleged murder over extramarital affairs. While the family and public were initially led to believe that the incident was a case of fire mishap, Sarat has now claimed that his brother was killed by his wife over a domestic dispute involving an alleged extramarital affair.
In his address to the media, he raised suspicions that his brother was murdered and the house was set on fire to make the death appear like an accident. If reports are to be believed, the victim's wife had long suspected her husband of being involved in a relationship outside their marriage, which often led to intense domestic arguments.
Sources revealed that the couple’s home had become a battleground, with constant fights and mistrust looming large. The tension escalated, ultimately resulting in the forester’s tragic death. Police suspect a conspiracy in the case, possibly influenced by jealousy and betrayal. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full story behind this heartbreaking case of love, deceit, and fatal consequences.
The tragic incident occurred late Thursday night at Sishir Sahu’s residence in Baramasidanda area of Nayagarh. Sishir, a forester posted in Panchrida, was living with his wife, Namita and son Abhishek in a rented house. Reports mentioned that around midnight, neighbours saw flames erupting from the house and Namita screaming for help, prompting locals to try dousing the fire before fire personnel arrived and extinguished it fully.
Inside the bedroom, Sishir’s half-burnt body was found lying on the bed. His wife had sustained minor injuries from the fire, while the son was unharmed. The blaze destroyed several household items, but the circumstances of the fire have raised suspicion, especially since its source remained unexplained.
Meanwhile, Nayagarh police confirmed that the case has taken a new direction and all angles are now being probed. Additional SP Subhash Panda told the media that the incident has clearly twisted, and the police are not ruling out murder. A scientific team has already begun a detailed forensic investigation to determine whether Sishir was murdered before being set on fire.
“A homicide angle is being probed as there is multiple evidence pointing towards it. We are currently interrogating the deceased’s son at the police station and his wife at the hospital,” said Panda.
Meanwhile, investigators are paying close attention to statements made by Sishir’s wife and son. Officers from the Town Police Station, under whose jurisdiction the case falls, have also questioned neighbours and collected samples from the scene.
Another piece in the puzzle involves an eerily similar incident from earlier this year, where police recovered a half-burnt body from the forest with a bullet injury in the same jurisdiction as Sishir’s. Claims had then surfaced that the man was burned alive on a pyre over issues involving debt money.
With Sishir Sahu now found dead in similar circumstances, suspicions have risen regarding a possible link between the two deaths.
