Odisha Vigilance raids properties of chief construction engineer of Lower Suktel

Vigilance officials conducted raids at nine locations linked to Sunil Kumar Rout, chief construction engineer of Lower Suktel in Bolangir, on charges of accumulating disproportionate assets. Properties in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Angul, Cuttack, and Bolangir were searched by teams comprising multiple high-ranking officers. Important documents were seized during the ongoing investigations.

Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at nine places associated with Sunil Kumar Rout, chief construction engineer of Lower Suktel in Bolangir, on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to sources, several teams of the anti-corruption agency raided properties of Rout and his relatives located in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Angul, Cuttack and Bolangir.

The Vigilance team comprising two additional SPs, eight DSPs, six Inspectors, 10 ASIs and other staff conducted searches on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, sources informed, adding that the team found some important documents during the search.

Till the last report came in, search operations were underway.

  • Double-storey building at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar
  • Flat at VIP Road in Puri
  • Flat at Grand Road in Puri
  • Paternal house at Gurudijhatia in Cuttack
  • House of his son at Kishorenagar in Angul
  • His relative’s house at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar
  • His house in Bolangir
  • His office in Bolangir
