Odisha to unveil mobile app to simplify access to caste, income & resident certificates

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

The Odisha government will launch a mobile app in April to simplify access to caste, income, and resident certificates. Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the initiative aims to reduce Tehsil office visits.

Mobile App

The Odisha government is set to launch a mobile application in April to simplify the process of obtaining revenue-related certificates. This initiative, announced by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, is intended to reduce the need for residents to travel to Tehsil offices.

With the new app, citizens can apply for essential documents such as caste, income, and resident certificates directly from their smartphones. Previously, residents had to embark on long journeys and endure extended waiting times.

Minister Pujari explained, “With this app, people can now apply for caste, income, and residence certificates without the need to visit the Tehsil offices.”

The application will record key details such as the application date and the purpose of the certificate. To enhance efficiency, the Revenue Department plans to establish comprehensive guidelines to ensure certificates are issued within specified timeframes.

Monitoring and Efficiency:

Tehsildars are tasked with uploading data through the app, allowing the government to monitor the swift delivery of services. If delays occur, state authorities will be quickly informed.

“The concerned Tehsildars will upload detailed data regarding the issuance of the certificates through the app. From this, the state government can get information regarding any delay in providing services to the applicants,” Pujari said.

The app also offers the advantage of downloading certificates directly, effectively eliminating physical visits to offices. As stated by the Revenue Minister, this reflects the state’s ongoing commitment to providing efficient governmental services to its citizens.

“The Revenue Department of the state government is committed to the home delivery of services,” the Minister revealed.
