Covid-19 resurgence

Odisha reportedly witnessed its first Covid-19-related death of 2025, informed sources.

Marking a grim reminder of the lingering presence of the virus, the incident occurred in Bhubaneswar, where a person who had recently tested positive for Covid-19 succumbed to the illness.

As per reports, the deceased was an elderly man, and he was undergoing treatment at home.

However, no reactions could be obtained from the Health Department about the matter.

As per sources, the deceased had tested positive for the coronavirus just a few days ago. However, the individual was also suffering from multiple comorbidities, which significantly worsened his health condition.

While Covid-19 was one of the contributing factors, the patient had pre-existing medical complications that might have played a major role in the deterioration of his condition.

This unfortunate incident serves as a cautionary reminder that Covid-19 remains a public health concern, particularly for individuals with underlying health issues. Although overall infection rates have been low in recent months, the virus continues to pose risks, especially to the elderly and medically vulnerable.
