Police personnel assault man in Cuttack
A disturbing incident has emerged from the SCB Medical College and Hospital premises in Cuttack, where a group of police personnel reportedly assaulted a civilian in broad daylight.
The purported video, which has since gone viral over various social media platforms, shows police officers forcibly dragging and manhandling the person, even tearing his shirt in full public view.
As per reports, the victim was reportedly standing in a queue at the SCB hospital’s ticket counter, seeking a registration token. For reasons yet unclear, a heated exchange ensued between the man and some on-duty police personnel, allegedly from the SCB Medical Outpost.
The verbal altercation quickly escalated, resulting in several police personnel, in the presence of SCB Outpost In-Charge Maneswar Sahu, forcibly dragging the man, beating him, and tearing his clothes in front of bystanders.
However, in a surprising turn of events, it has been reported that instead of taking disciplinary action against the police personnel involved, the police have allegedly registered a case against the victim himself. He has reportedly been detained at the police station, although the nature of the charges remains undisclosed.
