Odisha Plus 3 admission: CAF submission deadline extended to June 4

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Odisha's Higher Education Department extends the CAF submission deadline for Plus 3 admissions to June 4, aiding students awaiting results or facing upload challenges.

Odisha Plus-3 Admissions

In a welcome move for thousands of college aspirants, the Odisha Higher Education Department has extended the last date for submission of the Common Application Form (CAF) for +3 (undergraduate) admissions through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.

As per the official notification, students can now apply until June 4, 11:45 pm, offering a crucial breather to those facing time constraints due to pending exam results and document uploads.

The original deadline, which was set for June 1, has now been pushed back by three days following appeals from students and parents.

What the Extension Means for Applicants

The CAF is a mandatory step in the centralised admission process under Odisha’s SAMS. It covers personal information, course and college preferences, and +2 marksheet uploads. With many students still awaiting their results or facing internet access challenges, the extension allows more time to complete and double-check submissions.

The decision comes in the wake of similar extensions granted earlier in May, when the deadline was first moved to June 1. The department had cited the ongoing +2 evaluation process as a reason to provide additional flexibility.

Classes to Begin from July 15

Earlier this month, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj confirmed that Plus 3 classes will begin from July 15, once all admission formalities are complete.

The government has reportedly taken proactive measures to avoid the delays experienced last year, when students missed out on their first semester due to administrative holdups.

To further streamline admissions, the third phase of +3 admissions will remain open until the declaration of second-phase +2 results. Applicants will get 10 days from the result date to upload their marks and an additional 10-day grace period, ensuring ample time for documentation.
