Plus 3 classes in Odisha to begin from…, informs Higher Education Minister
Odisha’s Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Wednesday clarified that Plus 3 classes will begin from July 15, following the completion of the admission process. He assured that the authorities have taken steps to avoid last year’s delays, where
students missed their first semester due to prolonged admission timelines.
Speaking to reporters, the minister stated that the third phase of Plus 3 admissions will continue until the declaration of the second phase (Plus 2) results.
“There is no fixed deadline for the third phase admissions. It will be extended until the Plus 2 results are out,” he said, putting an end to the confusion that had surfaced after the earlier deadline ended while results were still pending.
Applicants will get 10 days from the result date to upload their mark sheets on the SAMS portal, and an additional 10-day grace period will be provided, the minister informed.
To ensure a smoother process this year, the department has initiated early preparations for college seat allocation in June, aiming to complete all procedures before the start of classes in mid-July.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will announce the results of Plus 2 examination at 4 pm today. The results will be available for all academic streams, including Arts, Commerce, and Science.
This year, a total of 3,93,618 students appeared for the examinations. Of these, 2,47,391 were from Arts stream, 1,14,980 from Science, 25,526 from Commerce, and 5,721 from Vocational Education.
