OAS officer's father agrees to accept victim as daughter-in-law
In a significant turn of events, the family of an administrative officer in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha, has decided to reconcile with a woman at the centre of a scandal involving allegations of love, deceit and betrayal. The officer's family agreed to bring the woman home after considering her statement at the local police station.
The affair concerns OAS officer Albert Hansda, who is said to have maintained a romantic relationship and a secret marriage with the woman. However, since assuming his role as an administrative officer three months ago, Hansda has reportedly refused to acknowledge her as his wife.
After the victim lodged a complaint in this connection, Hansda and his parents have reportedly agreed to accept the woman. This decision was reached subsequent to a formal police complaint being filed, a move reflecting a blend of legal obligation and social considerations in addressing the situation.
The incident has been reported from Sadar police limits in Jagatsinghpur district. As per the allegations of the woman, the OAS officer was in a relationship with her, engaged in physical intimacy, and even forced her to terminate the pregnancy.
Additionally, she claimed that the officer secretly married her but later abandoned her after successfully becoming an OAS officer after qualifying for the Odisha Civil Service examination. Feeling betrayed, the woman has lodged a complaint at the Jagatsinghpur Sadar police station. The complainant, who belongs to a tribal community from Keonjhar, stated that despite filing a report, the police have not taken any action yet.
“We were in class 6 since when we developed a relationship. After he joined the postal services, he married me but never introduced me as his wife. A fissure developed in our relationship ever since he cleared the civil services examination. He forced me to terminate my pregnancy thrice. I seek justice,” the victim said.
