The Odisha government will conduct a thorough review of the living and accommodation conditions of students at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar, informed School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Saturday.
Speaking to media, the Minister stated that the KISS currently provides food and lodging facilities for nearly 30,000 tribal students. The Department holds the responsibility of ensuring that all essential amenities for the students are in place.
The Minister also emphasised that a detailed assessment will be carried out to evaluate the quality of these facilities, and necessary improvements will be prioritised in the coming days assuring that student welfare remains a key focus for the government.
“Around 30,000 tribal students are living in KISS. We will carry out a detailed assessment to evaluate the quality of living and accommodation conditions there,” the Minister said.
