The process for electing the new Odisha BJP President and members of the National Council will commence on Sunday, June 29, informed BJP State Election Officer and MP Pratap Sarangi on Saturday.
The organizational election process will span over three days and is expected to conclude by July 1. This election marks an important phase in the BJP’s internal democratic exercise in Odisha.
In a key development, Bihar MP Sanjay Jaiswal has been appointed as the central observer for the process, Sarangi added.

“These organizational elections are part of BJP’s structured internal leadership selection from booth to national levels,” said Sarangi.
June 29, 11 AM: Notification of the electoral college voters list
12 PM to 2 PM: Objections, if any, will be received
2 PM to 5 PM: Final voters list to be published
June 30, 11 AM to 2 PM: Nomination filing
2 PM to 3 PM: Scrutiny of nominations
4 PM: Publication of final list and distribution of election symbols
July 1, 10 AM to 12 PM: Voting (if more than one candidate)
12:30 PM: Result declaration
Sarangi stated that central observer Sanjay Jaiswal will arrive in Odisha on June 30 and oversee the election proceedings.
“Odisha BJP needs a leader who can unite and lead effectively. Our internal democracy ensures that the right candidate is chosen. BJP is the only party where leadership is elected from booth to national level,” said Sarangi.
