Odisha BJP In-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar
Will senior leader Manmohan Samal be re-elected as the Odisha BJP president, or will the party introduce a fresh face? Such speculation is now rife over the appointment of the next BJP chief in the state post party’s superb performance in the 2024 general elections. The BJP single-handedly formed the government for the first in Odisha.
BJP's Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar on Tuesday indicated that an official decision on the new BJP state president will be taken by the central leadership and it will be announced in due course. However, the election process is expected to be finalised by March 15, following consultations with Sanjay Jaiswal, who is overseeing the election proceedings in Odisha.
“A lot of programmes including Delhi elections and government formation were held in the recent past. All the decisions are taken by the central election committee of BJP. We will hold talks so that the entire process is completed by March 15,” said Tomar.
Tomar also highlighted that the selection process for various boards and corporations in the state has already begun.
