Singer Pami Mishra
Singer Pami Mishra has filed a case at the Cyber Police Station, Bhubaneswar, alleging that a production house copied her 14-year-old song.
As per the singer, claiming her song as its own, the production house is gaining some financial benefits. She has lodged a song plagiarism case against Sai Sagar Creation and Pabitra Entertainment, alleging it has downloaded her song from social media and uploaded it to its YouTube channel.
She even alleged that a couple has not only sung her song but also claimed that the song was their own.
“I came to know about my song being lifted when some well-wishers sent me the link of the video sourced from Sai Sagar Creation. They said the video has been uploaded in the name of Prativa Upadhyay alias Prativa Das, who is the wife of Prasanna Upadhyay, the producer of Sai Sagar Creation,” said Mishra.
“From the very first line, I was confirmed that it was my song. How can I make a mistake in recognizing my voice? Should I claim anyone’s song as mine? When I called up Prativa Madam to find out if she sang the song, she confidently said it was she who sang the song. I asked her repeatedly and she kept on claiming that she sang the song,” the singer added.
According to Mishra, the song in question is “Ilo bau lo bau emiti bayasa kie dela lo’.
“The song was recorded on November 17, 2010. They downloaded the MP3 of the song from my YouTube channel. Besides Pami madam, I have also lodged a complaint as a producer,” said Krushna Chandra Behera, producer of Pami Mishra's song.
No reactions were received from the concerned production house in this regard.
