In a new twist to the Bengaluru horror, the accused Mukti Ranjan Roy’s brother has revealed that he was head-over-heels in love with Mahalaxmi and wanted to marry her. However, Mahalaxmi accused him of kidnap and handed him over to police.

“He wanted to marry her and was taking her on a bike to Kerala. However, she accused him of kidnapping and got him beaten up by the public. The public beat him up badly and handed him over to the police. He was also beaten by the cops and left after he gave Rs 1000 bribe,” informed Mukti’s brother Satyaranjan Rao.

Speaking exclusively to OTV, he revealed, “Her ‘brother’ along with his friends had also threatened Mukti. So, out of rage, he held her neck and choked her. Coming back to his senses he was panicked after the girl’s death, and tried to hang her to show it as suicide. However, he could not hang her and hence chopped it into pieces and put it in the fridge before fleeing to Odisha.”

“He was here in Berhampur with me and was very nervous and guilty that he had destroyed our family,” he added.

He also alleged that Mahalaxmi was blackmailing him and demanding money, and had taken a gold necklace, ring, and a costly mobile phone because of which he was mentally not well for the last one and a half years.

Due to his relationship with Mahalaxmi, he was not able to send money to his home and support his brother’s education, he alleged.

“He was always in tension. So I asked him why he was so tensed and he confessed that he had done a bad thing. He revealed that he had killed the girl in Bengaluru. He used to work in a company during day and as delivery agent at night. He earned 40-50K per month, but the girl took everything,” said Mukti’s sobbing mother.

Similarly, his father said, “I wasn’t aware of anything. He came home, slept with her mother and shared everything with her. He woke up early in the morning at around 4am and left home. Later, he was found hanging from a tree.”

Meanwhile, police have recovered Mukti’s suicide note where he wrote, “I was fed up with her conduct. I fought with her over personal matters and Mahalaxmi assaulted me. Enraged by her act, I killed her.”

Mahalaxmi, who hailed from Tripura, worked at a popular mall here where Mukti also worked. The police have found that she was married and had a child, but lived separately.

Mukti had disappeared following the incident of a sensational murder. Later, he was found hanging from a tree in a village in Bhadrak district in Odisha.
