Niramaya medicine stores to remain open 24x7 across Odisha, says Minister

Niramaya medicine stores in Odisha will now operate 24x7, as announced by Public Enterprise Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra. A monitoring squad ensures compliance.

In good news for the people of Odisha, Niramaya medicine stores will remain open 24x7 across the State from now on, informed Public Enterprise Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra on Wednesday.

According to the Minister, a squad has been formed to keep vigil on Niramaya medicine stores whether they remain open 24x7 or not. In case of any violation, necessary actions will be taken.

The Minister has given the directive in this regard in a review meeting of Odisha State Medical Corporation held today.

As per reports, a discussion was held in the meeting on whether medicines from the Corporation are regularly reaching Niramaya medicine stores or not and whether enough medicines are available in Niramaya medicine stores or not.

Emphasis was also given in the meeting on how medicines and napkins will reach the schools.

“Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has provided a special corpus fund of Rs 200 crore to Odisha State Medical Corporation so that people across the State will get medicines easily and Niramaya medicine stores will not tell people that medicines are not available,” said Public Enterprise Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra.

“Steps have also been taken so that students in schools will get napkins easily. We made a review in this regard today,” he added.
