In a heart-wrenching incident, the body of a newborn baby girl, partially eaten by a pack of stray dogs, was found at Saradhapur village under Sadar Police limits of Angul district on Sunday.

While it is not clear as yet who dumped the body and whether it was dead or alive when it was dumped there, the police have launched a probe into the matter.

According to sources, some local people first spotted a pack of stray dogs feeding on the body at around 3pm. They immediately chased the animals away.
