New Konark–Bhubaneswar railway line: Final location survey sanctioned
In a significant development for Odisha, Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has sanctioned the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the new railway line connecting Konark to Bhubaneswar via Nimapada and Gop.
This long-awaited project will establish a direct rail link between the state capital and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Konark, while also benefiting residents of Nimapada and Gop, which fall under the concerned Assembly Constituency.
The new railway line is expected to boost regional connectivity, strengthen local economies, support agricultural producers, and facilitate easier access to healthcare and education for residents. Additionally, the project is anticipated to enhance tourism in the region, further contributing to overall development.
Expressing gratitude for the development, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and the Assembly representative Pravati Parida thanked Minister Vaishnaw for his pioneering vision and support, emphasizing that this transformative initiative will bring lasting benefits to the people of the region.
