The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday detected as many as 27 plots of Nayagarh Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Panchanan Behera, whose property were raided on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.

The 31 plots are located in the prime locations of Bhubaneswar, the Vigilance Department said in a release. Moreover, out of the 27 plots, 10 are benami plots which the MVI is accused of having purchased in the names of his close relatives. Besides, four Benami vehicles have also been detected during the Vigilance raid.

A double-storeyed building and a single-storeyed building in Bhubaneswar have also been detected, claimed the Vigilance department today.

Earlier, the Odisha Vigilance Department raided several places linked to Behera. The raids were conducted at seven places in Khordha (Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, and Cuttack districts. "I am fully cooperating the Vigilance in its investigation," said Behera in his response.

Senior Vigilance officials said that valuation and assessment of the above buildings/ plots is being carried out by the Technical Wing.
