In an ambitious start to the New Year, Khordha on Sunday welcomed a plethora of development projects, heralding a positive start to 2025. MP Aparajita Sarangi inaugurated and laid the foundation of a series of significant development projects worth nearly Rs 20 crore, enhancing the city’s infrastructure and economic landscape.

A significant highlight of these initiatives is the foundation-laying ceremony for a new auditorium in the Khordha Municipal Council area. With an investment of Rs 9 crore, this facility is anticipated to be ready by January next year. The project, which spans a two-acre site, promises to become a cultural hub for Khordha.

Additionally, 208 shops and a daily market have been unveiled at TLC field, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 10 crore. This endeavour aims to accommodate 166 street vendors who were previously displaced, providing them a new venue to continue their businesses.

Addressing those gathered at the event, MP Sarangi expressed strong optimism during the inauguration saying that these developments are poised to elevate Khordha to new heights of progress. Her address was bolstered by the presence of Khordha Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Prashant Jagadev.

“I just laid the foundation stone for an auditorium. We are all set to set up a 400-seater auditorium on a 2-acre land. It was planned in 2006, but the previous government failed to take up the project. But, now we will turn the project into reality,” informed MP Aparajita Sarangi.
