Naba Das murder case
Amidst the ongoing tug of war over CBI probe into former BJD leader Naba Das murder case, BJP MP Pradeep Purohit on Sunday questioned why the family members of the deceased remained silent and never demanded an impartial probe into the murder case.
Purohit said that he had earlier alleged involvement of some conspiratorial group behind the brutal murder of former health minister Naba Das in broad daylight.
“Gopal Das was just a pawn and there is a conspirator group behind the assassination. I had earlier said that the person, who harboured the dream to become the Chief Minister after Naveen Patnaik, is the conspirator. This is now proving to be true,” said Purohit.

Earlier, the family members and the former Jharsuguda MLA Dipali Das did not make any demand for an impartial probe and reposed faith in Naveen Patnaik and investigation by saying that everything was on the right track. This was only for their desire for power and to protect their property, said Purohit while expressing concerns that during volatile period in the past, the family of Naba Das refrained from commenting.
Emphasizing the need for a detailed inquiry, Purohit cited desires for power and protection of property as the possible reasons behind the family's 'unfortunate' silence in the past.
“Under such circumstances, there is an urgent need for more probe into Naba Das murder case to apprehend the mastermind behind the murder plot,” he added.
Senior BJD leader Bhupinder Singh said, “Why they (BJP leaders) are now insisting on written submission as earlier they were levelling allegations against the investigation. They are now in power and they should take immediate action.”
