Key accused of Keonjhar Govt Medical College recruitment scam arrested
Keonjhar police on Wednesday arrested Pramila Parida- the key accused in the recruitment scam at the district government medical college.
Often referred to as the 'super broker', Pramila was reportedly arrested alongside an accomplice. They are accused of defrauding numerous job seekers by offering employment in exchange for significant sums of money.
The scam reportedly involved in-person dealings where job applicants were promised positions in return for bribes. Viral footage allegedly shows Pramila handling significant amounts of cash, highlighting the extent of the illegal operation.
As per the allegations, Pramila orchestrated fake job interviews and issued counterfeit selection results for various posts at the Keonjhar Government Medical College. Aspiring employees were allegedly charged up to Rs 200,000, either through cash payments or online transfers. They were also reportedly issued fake identity cards.

However, despite the passage of years, no job offers reportedly materialised, nor were the aspirants reimbursed. Those who demanded repayment were allegedly met with hostility.
Pramila, who initially worked as a sweeper at the hospital, allegedly rose to prominence as a con woman. She allegedly promised employment opportunities even before positions were officially announced, amassing significant wealth from unsuspecting individuals.
There are suspicions that a portion of the illicit earnings may have been funneled to individuals higher in the hierarchy. The police investigation into the scam is currently underway, and further developments are anticipated soon.
This case serves as a cautionary tale for job seekers, illustrating the potential depths of exploitation in the quest for employment.
