The Uttar Pradesh police is currently on the hunt for Guddu Muslim, the close aide of slain gangster and dreaded criminal Atiq Ahmed.
He has been absconding ever since the death of the gangsters turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf.
According to reports, UP STF questioned one person at Bhatli in Bargarh district in connection with Guddu Muslim. The said person reportedly has links with the driver of gangster Guddu.
Bargarh SP Prahlad Sahai Meena confirmed the visit of the UP STF. "A 5-member team visited Bargarh on April 18. The team camped in Bargarh for two days and grilled one person. The STF team informed us about its visit. The team left yesterday," said Meena.
Besides, Northern Range IG Deepak Kumar said, "The UP STF team visited Bargarh for verification and questioned one person. We extended all cooperation as per the rules. The team did not arrest any person."

Earlier, national media had reported that the gangster had taken shelter in Odisha’s Puri district. However, the police are yet to confirm the same.
The UP STF had also gone to Nashik in Maharashtra in search of Guddu after receiving information about him hiding there.
Though some media houses ran the report that the STF arrested Guddu Muslim in Nashik, the police of Maharashtra later clarified that the 'arrested' person was a waiter in a hotel and not Guddu Muslim.
Who is Guddu Muslim?
Guddu Muslim is among the 10 accused named in the Umesh Pal murder case. Six of them have been killed and Guddu Muslim is among the four others who are currently on the run.
While Ashraf had taken the name of Guddu Muslim before his death, the latter is among the 10 accused named in the Umesh Pal murder case. Six of the 10 accused have already been killed, but Guddu Muslim is yet to be nabbed.
Guddu Muslim is known as the ‘bomb specialist’ who prefers throwing bombs at people to shooting them to death.
In the Umesh Pal murder, he was seen throwing crude bombs while riding a pillion on a motorcycle.
