Injured Shark
An injured Blue Whale Shark, measuring around 15 feet, was spotted on the shores of Sunapur Beach in Ganjam district on Monday, attracting locals and tourists alike.
The cause behind the shark's injuries was not known immediately.
As per reports, the huge marine creature was spotted having been washed ashore on Sunapur Beach at around 11 am. As the news spread like wildfire, soon a good number of local people and tourists gathered at the spot to have a look at the giant marine creature. They wondered about the circumstances that led to its unexpected appearance.

However, while some were seen clicking photos with the fish in the frame, others were seen making videos of the creature.
On being informed, the Forest department swiftly dispatched a team to the spot to rescue the injured creature. On reaching the spot, they launched an operation to rescue it. At the time of filing of the report, the Forest Department’s operation was still underway.
While such sightings along the Indian coastline are uncommon, they spark both curiosity and concern within the community and among environmentalists.
